CLI installation

The CLI ships as a self-contained native binary. You can install it with a single command, or run it one-off through npx.

macOS and Linux

curl -fsSL https://agent.pathvela.com/install.sh | sh

The installer:

  1. Detects your platform (x86_64 or aarch64, macOS or Linux).
  2. Downloads the latest lily binary (~100 MB) from agent.pathvela.com.
  3. Verifies it against its published checksum.
  4. Symlinks it to ~/.lily/bin/lily and puts it on your PATH.

That's the whole install — a binary on your PATH, nothing running in the background. If you want the agent to stay available for your Pathvela browser tab or app, turn on auto mode yourself with lily bridge install.

Windows

Run in PowerShell:

irm https://agent.pathvela.com/install.ps1 | iex

Or download and double-click Install-Lily.cmd. The Windows installer does the same steps — download, verify, and put lily on your PATH. Auto mode stays opt-in there too (lily bridge install).

One-off with npx

If you already have Node 18 or newer and don't want a permanent install:

npx pathvela

pathvela is a thin alias for the @poolot/lily launcher — these are identical:

npx pathvela
npx -y @poolot/lily

The launcher downloads the same native binary on first run and caches it under ~/.lily/bin/.

Where things live

  • macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel)
  • Linux (arm64 and x64, glibc)
  • Windows (arm64 and x64)

For the npx path only, Node 18+ is required. The native installers need no Node.
