These pages cover what you set up to shape the Pathvela agent — the standing instructions it follows, the know-how it can draw on, the tools it can call, and the external servers it can reach. They apply no matter which surface you use, the CLI or the SDK.

Rules vs skills
Both let you shape the agent's behavior, but at different scope:
