Your Pathvela account

Everything runs on one Pathvela account. It holds your identity, your credit balance, and the API keys the agent authenticates with — whether the agent is running in the CLI or the SDK.

The developer console

Sign in and manage everything at the developer console:

platform.pathvela.com

From there you can mint API keys, rotate them, revoke them, and see your usage.

API keys

The agent authenticates with an API key that the Pathvela backend validates on every request and meters credits against. There are two kinds:

  • A signed-in user token. When a person is logged into a Pathvela app, the app holds a short-lived login token and keeps it fresh. This is what browser apps typically pass to the SDK.
  • A programmatic key. A long-lived key you mint in the console for servers, scripts, and the CLI. New keys look like sk-lily-…. Older sk-agent-… keys remain valid — both are accepted.

Mint a programmatic key in the console, give it a label, and copy it once (you won't see it again). You can rotate or revoke it at any time.

Using a key

Pass it wherever an agent is created.

SDK:

The key is sent as a bearer token to the Pathvela backend. Requests with no valid key are rejected.

Keep keys secret. A programmatic key spends your credits. Store it in an environment variable or secret manager, never in client-side code or version control. For browser apps, use a signed-in user token (or proxy requests through your own server) rather than embedding a programmatic key in the page.

Metering and models

Usage is metered on your account in credits. Every run reports its token usage so you can track spend:

The model tier you choose (poolot-standard, poolot-pro, poolot-vision, poolot-mini) determines the rate. poolot-standard is the inexpensive default.
